I am a trial attorney admitted to practice in the State of Texas since 1988. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1985. I attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, and graduated in 1987. Upon graduation I was employed by a private law firm in Dallas County, concentrating on civil litigation, family law, and personal injury.
I opened my own office in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1989. My primary areas of practice are criminal law, family law, personal injury, and civil litigation. In addition to all Texas State courts, I am also licensed to practice before the United States District Court in the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. I am a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Tarrant County Bar Association.
During my first years in practice I obtained extensive trial experience in criminal and civil courts. Trial experience is a primary consideration for a client in deciding whether to hire an attorney. In some cases, a trial is the last resort; in others, trial may be the only option. Opposing counsel - whether a government prosecutor or a private attorney - must know that your attorney is willing and able to go to trial if necessary. In addition to handling numerous state cases ranging from misdemeanors to capital murder, I have also appeared in federal courts in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
Besides my trial practice I also provide legal services in the form of document preparation, legal advice and consultations in a variety of legal matters. My office is located on The Square in Weatherford, Texas directly across the street from the courthouse. My usual hours of operation are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:00pm on Friday. Weekend and evening appointments are available upon request Initial consultation is free.
